A neighbor brought a cushion requesting that it be covered in an old sail. I am a sailor with an old sail lying around. They placed it on the base. I love the tell tails on it and thought they could entertain guests and children with describing the function of these wind to sail indicators. Maybe add in small sailboat toys and a fan and have a class in sailing basics on the ottoman. The best news is you can wipe it off. But like any boat owner knows, never bring any red food or drink on a boat. White wine, please?!! This was a fun and creative project. Thank you to people that see the world like I do, a big ol' renovation of some sort.
